A 'critical' question
This one's a question for anyone - those of us here and readers at large - who either write or read reviews. How much hyperbole is a good thing in a review? How often can you call something brilliant or wonderful or classic before the whole enterprise becomes rather meaningless. I think one of the many problems facing a reviewer/critic is how to meaningfully give voice to their passion for a work. We all stand poised on the brink of inarticulacy at times, and sometimes we go over the top. So, how much is too much?
